Help YLA Secure a New Home!
After five years of growth and success on Water Street, Youth Leadership Authority (YLA) is on the move, and we need your support!
Our Journey So Far:
- December 2019: YLA proudly transitioned from a home office to a space provided by HCF (now Launch Pad) at a modest $600/month.
- 2021: We expanded into a larger space with a lease of $1,900/month, reflecting our growth and commitment to serving our community.
- Showcasing Our Success: We’ve proudly displayed our $7,000 wall signage, symbolizing the incredible support of our community partners.
The Challenge:
Recently, we were informed that we must vacate our current space to make room for another small business. While this presents some challenges, we see it as an opportunity for new growth in Henderson!
The Good News:
We’ve found what we hope will be our forever home at 160 Horizon Drive. However, we need to move by September 1, 2024 — right in the middle of our busiest season!
The new space requires some TLC, including a paint job and minor repairs. We also need a few small desks, a conference table, and whiteboards to make it the perfect YLA home for our students and families. If you would like to help in this arena, please let us know!
Grateful Acknowledgements
- AC Pro: Our main donor, providing crucial funding to maintain our programs for the rest of the year. We deeply appreciate their consistent support—they are a true blessing!
- Mark and Tina Schick of Master Mechanical: Our dedicated board members have committed $1,000 per month toward our 24-month lease. Their generosity and unwavering commitment have been invaluable to our mission.
- Arnold and Shannon Stalk of Share Village: Donated $6,000, equating to $500 per month. Arnie, a former Devil Pup in 1968, and Shannon have been instrumental in our success and the future of our students.
- The Honorable Debra March: Committed $1,000 toward this effort.
All donors will have their company logo or name placed on our website. Donors of $6,000 or more will be featured on our new Donor Wall of Fame, and those contributing $10,000 or more will have their logo displayed on our door and/or window facing Horizon in Henderson!

YLA operates on a tight budget, and this sudden move presents a significant financial challenge. We’re asking for the support of our community to help us continue our mission of empowering teens to become independent, responsible, and respectful adults.
