YLA Accomplishments
This is what the past 3 months have looked like in our new home on Water Street in Henderson!
We celebrated the Grand Opening of our 1st office in the Henderson Resource Business Center with the Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation on Water Street. We were so excited and proud to have the city of Henderson’s, Mayor March and city manager, Richard Derrick and the Henderson Chamber of Commerce alongside of our students and the YLA Board as we cut the ribbon!
YLA’s, Founder and CEO, Marie Tomao with BOD, Kathy Chavez and Committee Member Carole Hanley attended the Greater Nevada Marine Corps League- 186 Detachment monthly meeting. Marie was voted in as a non voting member and they issued YLA a $4000.00 check to assist with Southern Nevada Devil Pups season! The Greater Nevada Marine Corps League has been sponsor for 16 years- Thank you to all the members for ensuring successes in our programs year after year!


The Eagle Season began with the 1st Physical Fitness Test (PFT) that happened right on the famous Water Street! In this picture, 2019 Devil Pups Graduate, River Tokay is being congratulated by his Instructor Team ( United States Marines) for passing his PFT! We had 6 students in total perform a PFT and now are moving though the Eagle Program, ( Bachelors Level) by attending Dale Carnegie’s Teen Leadership Program! We are BUILDING leaders!
YLA/SNDP and the Greater Nevada Marine Corps League 186 Detachment performed the opening ceremonies for the Fraternity of the Bighorn Sheep Annual Event last night! We showed up loud and proud – Marine style! Thank you to our amazing sponsor, Greater Nevada Marine Corps League 186 Detachment for performing the Color Guard!


YLA was proud to attend the Henderson Chamber Foundation “I Can Be ” Career Choice for the 1st time at Foothill High School! Founder, Marie Tomao speaks to hundreds of teens regarding YLA programs and benefits! We are making an IMPACT!
