Hey YLA Family!
Like many of you, the Christmas season is my favorite time of year! Yes the gifs are great, the Christmas decorations, the holiday parties are always memorable, and reuniting and gathering with family/friends are the best part of the season. However, what I love most about this time of year is that I’m always reminded of the reason for this beautiful season! It’s about the birth of Jesus Christ and the Hope we have in knowing Him! Hope was born in a manger in the town of Bethlehem. No baby showers were given for him mom, no special crib was designed by his father, no fanfare surrounded his birth, but His birth is recorded for all of time and never to be forgotten! It is why we celebrate Christmas!
The Bible’s recording of the prophecy given by Isaiah describes Jesus in this way (See Isaiah 9:6) – “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
How will you see Him this Christmas?
- Will you recognize Him as the Wonderful Counselor? He wants to be that to you this Christmas season!
- Will you see Him as the Mighty God? Sometimes the holidays don’t go as planned or are little difficult. Invite Him into your Christmas season this year to be your strength and your comfort!
- Do you need Him to show up in your life as the Everlasting Father? He will be exactly who you need Him to be as you acknowledge Him. He’s a Good and Faithful Father who wants the very best for you!
- He is the Prince of Peace! I pray that you will know and experience His peace everyday and in every way! May He calm every storm that may come your way this holiday season!
So what is Hope? Hope is having an expectancy to see and experience something good! You can have Hope when you focus on the true reason for the season!
May the joy of this season be centered around the good news that a Savior was born and He is the Hope of the world!
